What happened to the burned out ranch house on I 35 a few miles north of Denton?
I've been a student at North Texas for several years and have often driven by a large home with a beautiful, well maintained stable and field. The house, however, appears to be burned out on the inside. I'm curious if it's in limbo with some sort of insurance claim or lawsuit, but am also curious what happened there.
Thanks!
A-Best: It's been like that for at least 10-12 years, and perhaps more.
I live in Oklahoma City and have driven back and forth to Dallas since about 1995 and I first noticed it in that condition in probably 96 or 97, though I can't pinpoint the exact year. I have no idea when the actual fire/damage happened, but the overall condition of the grounds outside the house have improved considerably since the late 90s/early 00s, but not the house.
As of my last trip to Dallas back in April, the house remains as it always was, though it appeared there might have been more glass in the ground floor windows than before (or maybe not, it was near dusk so hard to tell and I was the one driving).
But like you, I've always wondered what happened and why the condition of this place hasn't changed in over a decade.
